As Tex Johnson said, epoxy primers are a different ballgame. It adheres
much better to metal, aluminmum, and fiberglass. It's water resistant, and
greatly
improves adhesion of body plastic when used over epoxy primer. IMHO it's
the best corrosion resistant primer etc., but its expensive and very TOXIC.
Sanding between coats does several things: it smoothes the surface of
debris
etc.and gives the new coat a surface to adhere to. Most paints including
PPG DP Epoxy can be recoated within a specific period of time without
sanding an still adhere properly.
