I have only had good experiences with tire foams.  I have used them on
beater cars on which the tires were far from new anyway.  They don't work
on tubes, but they always worked on tubeless tires for me.  Tire guys hate
to find the stuff in the tire, and I probably wouldn't use them on new
expensive tires.  Another option is to have the hole plugged, about $5.
