Hey Ross:
My brief suggestion is to determine the brand of paint you will use.
(From my limited experience and relying on input from friends, I have
chosen PPG for most of my stuff.) Each manufacturer has its owmn line
of products that are meant to be used as a "system". You'll also find
that if you have a paint failure and haved used multiple products for
one application, no one will come forward to offer any kind of a
warranty.
I have had good luck with Corroless from Eastwood (got a new quart in
todays mail) for arresting rust. POR-15 is excellent, too.
Remember, Dr. Rust never stops working on his patient!
