Karl,
I was recently in the same position as you, and needed a new top for my
A. I did a survey among people who install these things as part of their
business. Almost everyone prefered AMCO tops for two reasons: They fit
well, and the snaps are all installed. As long as you are sure that your MGA
has all of the attachment studs in their exact factory original
positions, then an AMCO should be fairly easy to install. If you are not
sure, then I recommend the everflex top from Scarborough Faire.( you
install the snaps) I have installed two of these, with success. The
everflex top duplicates the original pretty closely. The outside fabric
is everflex(grained vinyl), and the inside fabric is off white/light
beige, as was the original. (If that is important to you). A zip out
rear window version is also available. The top comes with good
instructions, which if followed, and with patience, you should get a
nice fit.
