This is an excellent summary of the situation. This issue may be of
sufficient importance that it should have its own listserv if someone could
set it up. The list could be promoted to a wide range of car marque lists
and then we could get back to the fun of cars while checking the "Smog
Police" list to find out what the bureaucrats are doing to our hobby and our
daily transportation.
