Hi Tom:
Sorry to hear about your misadventure- "keep the faith" ( do we still
say that?)
If your fuel pump is constantly clicking it sounds like it's sucking air
rather
than a clog. Check the line from the fuel pump to the tank and the tank.
I had a hard time cleaning the tank on my A coupe. It was very rusty
inside,
so I bought a kit from POR 15. I followed the steps, but the inside still
looked very rusty. Then I took it to a local RENU tank repair shop. They
chopped it up and
painted with some rubber crap-using a broom. It looked so bad I refused to
pay for it and got a new one from Moss. I think someone, on this line,
suggested using a
local Metal Cleaning service. That might have been my answer.
BTW be careful around the fuel pump! A local guy had a fuel pump leak &
while tightening the connection he hit a hot wire with the wrench. He just
sold his
toasted A for $1200.
I'll be at the Glen Sunday with my MGA roadster (red of course)- unless
we get heavy rains. We've had 16 straight wonderful weekends here. Now
they're
predicting heavy rains for my favorite Glen weekend. Bummer! (do we still say
that?)
Good luck & Octagonally yours,
