Well I made the decision to buy the book. After a cursory review, I can
provide the following comments for those interested.
If you have a U.S. spec, rubber bumper car, prepare to feel ignored in
the book. As was previously mentioned by another list member, the focus
of this book, as is the case with most books on the B, is U.K. spec
cars. The author makes no mention of the single carb version of the
car, or offer any advise on conversions for it. He mentions the DCOE
type Weber carb, remains partial to S.U.'s, and does not mention the DGV
Weber at all. From my experience, there seems to be a lot of B's
running around sporting DGV's here in the U.S. It would have been nice
to get some tuning tips for this conversion. General engine data
references U.K. cars as well.
The book is advertised as including information on suspension, brakes,
and steering mods, etc., as well. They are discussed breifly, and with
little detail. I have received more useful information from the folks
here on the list.
If you are: 1) planning a tear-down of your engine, and would like to
build it up for more power, are anticipating doing a valve-job, and 2)
are aware of the basic differences between the U.K. spec engines and the
U.S. specs, I think can get a lot out of it. Otherwise, save your
money.

Chris Delling
