I also had a pile of half used spray cans. I save all the nozzles
off the cans I empty in one shot, so have spares. Get very
upset when a spare gets plugged by dried paint in the pick-up
tube. So...
I point the can away from me and take a bent paper clip and just
push down on the valve to release the dried paint in the tube out
onto a paper towel. The cans seem to work fine until they sit
on the shelf for a while (then I do it again). Its better'n
throwing out good usable paint!
Remember to point it away from you (and your LBC) and to use eye
protection
