An exciting news blurb from the September issue of _european car_:
"Derived from the mid-engined MGF, the MGB GT will be a front wheel
drive, RD1 based sporty hatchback coupe based on the current Rover 200,
and reminiscent of the classic MGB GT of the 60s. Some of the body
panels come from the MGF, but the new car is larger and has a wider
stance. Because of its front engine, the coupe is a logical candidate
for the KV8, 145hp engine, and it's an important comeback model for the
North American market, where MG still enjoys a considerable loyal base."
Accompanying the text is an artist's rendering of what looks to be an
MGF with a smoothly integrated fastback roofline; very much in the way
that the original BGT's roofline is harmonious with the original B
roadster's body lines.
I, as an American, have no idea what the KV8 engine is. Can any UK
correspondents enlighten me?
