1. The 3.7 axle ratio is endemic to the 1500 midget. An attempt to increase the fuel mileage to meet the US standards. 2. Converting a 1/4 eliptic car to 1/2 eliptic is something not for the faint of heart. Essentialy what you would have to do is graft the rear section of a 1/2 eliptic car onto the earlier body. Everything (suspension-wise) from just forward of the spring hanger rearward would have to be replaced. Not a task recommended for the odd week-end project. Rick Morrison 74 Midget |
