MG Midget - 1500 questions

Does the 77 MG Midget use a washer bag or a plastic
        container?? Where should it be fitted under the
        bonnet??
        Why does the radiator overflow go into a metal tank
        which has a pipe into a plastic container (right
        hand front)???? 
        Would there be any benefit in modifying the single 
        Stromberg from auto- to manual-choke???
        Is there a direct replacement VW alternator to replace 
        the original 34Amp model????
