In order to get an early MG (after 1965 in Calif) to pass the smog test a local mechanic opened up the valve lash to .025 and this shortening of the cam duration enabled him to then get HC down and was then able to get the rest of the values within the required limits. Worth a try if you are having problems-hope it helps. |
