Thanks to all for the definition.
Got your 2nd mail, Paul, about getting the timing cover off. Haven't
done anything major with my V8 yet as it is my everyday car. However
I was using it to test a compression gauge (yes, using an engine to
test a gauge) the other day when something odd happened.
I had definitely removed the live feed to coil, the one from the
distributor was still connected, as were seven of the plug leads.
The engine was warm but not hot. Cranked over the engine and ... it
almost started! Thinking I was hearing things I checked the gauge
and sure enough, the needle was right round on maximum.
How come? Any ideas?
Paul H.
