I put in a $300 Alpine radar system. It has a blinking LED where the overdrive switch would have been if I had overdrive; it almost looks like it's _supposef_ to be there. And the radar doesn't go off until you open a door (I leave it unlocked) or put your hand inside the cockpit. At that point the 150db alarm dictates that you stand several feet away from the car or wear earplugs. $300 is a lot to spend for security, but in the neighborhood I live in, it's a necessity, not a luxury. -- Marc |
