MGA Brake Woes after Cylinder rebuilds

I rebuilt all the wheel cylinders on my '57 MGA, and now I can't seem to 
bleed the system.  I pump it up, a couple of pumps is all it takes, and 
it holds.

I release the brakes for a few seconds and then I have to pump them 
again.  Anyone experienced this ?
