MGB fuel gauge

Hello:

I wonder if anyone  has had this problem with their fuel gauge and/or sending
unit? This one is on my '67 MGB-GT w/14 gal. fuel tank.

After fill-up, it registers full and continues to do so until there is about
a gallon or two left at which time it indicates almost empty.

Any ideas? I suspect the problem lies in the sending unit or tank float.
