Early this spring I had a problem where the clutch would not disengage. This
was caused by the disc rusting to the flywheel. Simultaneously (over the
winter), the flexible hose to the slave cylinder failed, causing the clutch
pedal to be very stiff and slow to return. Problem one was fixed by driving the
car in 1st gear, on and off the gas, pumping the pedal for a couple of blocks.
Problem 2 was solved by replacing the coupling.
