It is bolted to the rear of the diff housing. If I remember correctly,
there is also a bolt on the t-fitting for the rear brakes that also hold
the e-brake cable. I bought a raplacement cable at the Memphis show last
year, and was told it fits any B.....well, it was about 7-8 inches shorter
that the one I took off, so it is no longer bolted to the t-fitting (but
is still out of the way of the rear end's travel).

I replaced mine about 4 months ago.......when you replace the cable, make
sure you ADJUST YOUR REAR BRAKES!! I had no idea how far out of
adjustment mine were until the list started talking about rear brake
adjustment.....at the same time, I was having a devilish time getting the
e-brake to hold. After correclty adjusting the rerar brakes (by the
Haynes manual and list info) the e-brake actually works (had to modify the
bolt holding the ratchet at the handle) and pedal travel was reduced, and
the car feels better.

It is amazing how well something works when you get it working like it was
designed!!

BTW, I have about 15 feet of steel braied teflon brake line (and 12
fittings) left over from the FSAE car I'm building, so this summer the MGB
gets its rubber brake line replaced with fancy Earl's parts.
