Awhile back someone was asking about SU carburetter needles. Two very
useful references are available from Burlen Fuel Systems. The first is
their SU Carburetor Needle Profile Charts book (ALT 9401 L2.95). This
lists 700 jet needles, and gives their diameter every 1/8th of an inch
along the taper. Thus, one can compare the stock needle with others to
select richer or leaner needles at particular places in the range of
operation. This is the only source of this information I have found.
The second source of info from Burlen is their SU Reference Catalogue
(ATL 9321A L5.95). It describes rebuilding and adjustment of all SU
carbs and SU electric fuel pumps with text and pictures. Burlen also
supplies every possible part to repair SUs. They can supply any needle,
and I have found needles hard to locate through Moss or Victoria British.
They also have kits to redo the throttle spindles, and have all the
little rubber parts, springs, etc. that cannot be found in the US. Their
prices are good, and since carb parts are small, shipping costs are
modest to the US.

Also, I am looking for a fiberglass front end for my Midget. There were
reproductions made by Lenham Motor Company of the MG Midget GTs (Jacobs
racing Midgets from 1961-65) in fiberglass. I want a front end assembly,
but do not have any sources. Can anyone help?
