It had snowed about 1/2 inch the night before. As we were ascending a hill at 25 MPH my roommate decided that we were going too fast to make the curve at the top. When he applied the brakes the front wheels locked up so when he turned the wheel we continued straight. He panicked and pushed harder on the brake locking the rear wheels and stalling the engine. We crossed the road into oncoming traffic lane (there was none luckily) the front end hit a snow bank, the back spun around 180 when the back wheels hit the snow bank the car eased over on its side then on to the roof. I rolled the window down (UP) and bumped my head when I released the seat belt and climbed out. Now to answer your question, If he had ABS the wheels would not have locked and we would have gone around the curve. If I had been driving I would have taken my foot off the brake. - -Mark "Always wears a seatbelt" Jurras |
