Hello,
The Coverlay dashtop is a very helpful part for MG owners. It is not
perfect but it may be perfect for you if only the top of your dash is
cracked.
Replacing a dashtop requires:
1. Less than $50
2. 2 or 3 hours.
The results of a dashtop for a dash that is only cracked on top are pretty
good if you take care to clean the old dash and trim the cover to fit,
especially at the choke.
Replacing a whole dash requires:
1. Luck--finding a better or new dash is not easy.
2. Money--good or new dashes are often more than $100 and way up.
3. Time--more than 10 hours since replacing a dash includes transferring
gauges and fitting wiring and will use up more time than most want to devote.
Does anyone know why the '68-'71 dashes seem to last longer that the later
ones?
Have fun,

Hello all,
I have a '69 MGB that has two large open cracks on the right
side of the dash, doesn't look very good. Has any one used
the "Dash Top Repair Cover" shown in Moss or Victoria B.
catalogs? Or should I just get a new dash?
Thanks,
Brian Shick
