Hello it's March,
We have found that stock is best. SU fuel pumps are very reliable and the
fit and pressure (1.5-3#) is proper. Most aftermarket pumps are less
reliable and often pump an incorrect pressure. There are aftermarket
versions of the correct pump which are grey or black but lack the durability
of SU. We are fortunate to still be able to get so many OEM parts for our
cars.
Often the original MGB banjo fittings have been removed in an aftermarket
installation and these are available. Check grounds, power, carb venting and
fuel lines before condemning an SU pump.
Have fun,
Jeff and your friends at Motorhead
