I wouldn't go as far as to say that a Celica would drive like a "grown-up
MGB". I would say that I have owned two Toyotas. I had the first one, a
'72 Corrona, for over ten years and 120,000. The only reason I got rid of
it was that a plumbing truck failed to stop behind me. I replaced it with
an '82 Corrola. My daughter still drives it at 200,000+ miles. Just put
some new stereo speakers in it last night. It just past emissions testing
with nothing but an oil change and a new air filter. Except for a couple of
alternators, clutches, brakes, and a water pump, it has run perfectly for 13
years as a daily driver. So, on the basis of long life and reliability, it
is hard to imagine anything better.
