Radiator caps on early British cars have a special deep neck, if  a later
model cap is fitted you will not have a pressure system and will loose water
due to evaporation.  Check the depth of the radiator neck compared to your
cap.

A radiator pressure cap increases the boiling point of water by 3.25 degrees
F. for every one pound of pressure
