I'm not really an electrically aware person (I had a deprived
childhood, and missed out on the electrical engineering segment of
junior high, which everyone else apparently got), so I had to replace
a whole bunch of blown instrument lamps, and my fried battery,
before I figured out the voltage regulator in my alternator wasn't regulating
properly. It was pumping out 17+ volts at times. Sure did make my
headlights bright, though!
