From the discussion so far, sounds like people are successfully
using many different fluids. (anyone using water ?:)
My understanding of the function of the damper fluid is to keep
the piston from moving much due to the inevitable pulses in the
intake system. Another effect is when you snap the throttle open
or closed, different fluid viscosities control how quickly the
piston will react. It would be interesting to build a list of
what people are using, the viscosity, temp range, and type of
driving.
