I just had a similar experience. While at a friends vineyard with the B,
I took off the hard top and set it aside. While someone was exiting the
driveway, they made a wide turn and ran over my hardtop. I was
astonished that the hardtop did not disintigrate. There was only a small
crack on the inside surface near the header rail and one near the arch of
the driver's side window. There is now a permanent tire track over the
top of my hardtop, but it is still usable and not deformed in anyway. I
sealed the small cracks with silicon to keep moisture out.
One good thing, I feel much safer knowing a car can run over my hardtop
and it won't collapse (although it may now, since it has been weakened).
