I was at a britcars wrecker yard on Saturday and the guy there
insisted that the Austin/Morris Marina had an OHC engine (and thus
didn't share the same block/crank/head as a A-series spridget
engine). Now I know that at least some Marinas did have A series
engines -- check Vizard's book, and a couple of local spridget racers'
engines (the Marina crank has bigger journals and thus can be offset
ground to give a stroker motor).
Was there another engine/gearbox combo used in the Marina as well as
the A/A+ series engine?
Anyone know the production details of the A+ inline Marina engine?
(i.e. production dates/nos when the switch from A series to A+ series
was made). All I know is that it was late in production.
Thanks, Mike
