I attended most events - but felt that $85/participant was a little
steep for mere attendees (I didn't bring a car from Arkansas - too hot
and too far this time). Thus I was barred from events at "the farm".
But I had toured the factory on a previous visit to the area.
The autocross was pretty well run and included a bunch of different
types of participants. Some novices and some VERY fast competitors.
No wrecks of mishaps while I was there, but several near misses. One
really fantastic 360 spinout. How the driver saved it from **** is
still unknown to me.
The gymkana(sp) was pretty well administered. Early chalk lines to
indicate direction through the course went fast, but were redrawn
from time to time. LOTS of participants here and all seemed to have
had a great time.
The Coventry Inn party and street dance was really well presented.
The band was really good and the liquid refreshments were readily
available and free to all comers; registrants, attendees, and dead
beat townees alike. Pretty good PR for a town that doesn't seem to
know what to make of TRF and its owner.
My wife and I had a good time. We'll go again - and bring a car the
next time.
