Can't you get arrested for trafficking in midgets (height disadvantaged
persons)??

Seriously, it depends on how you plan to use the car, and how big/small a car
you can stand. A midget is _very_ well-named, if you even think you may want
to take the car on a long trip, they can get claustrophobic (sp?) pretty
quickly, not to mention you get to feel like a box of rocks going down the
hiway.

Four years ago, we paid $2600 for a very nice '71 MGB, the only thing that
didn't work was the heater switch, and the previous owner hadn't experimented
on the wiring under the hood. (a common plan of "repair" of these cars seems to
be to make a complete mess of the wiring, adding yards and yards of black and
red wires to the car for fun. ???)

I would keep looking for a chrome-bumpered car, either Midget or MGB. Better
resale, less (or no) smog crap (so they go faster), better handling due to lower
ride height, and, IMHO, better looks.

But, it is, of course, a matter of opinion and preference, either car can be a
LOT of fun, but remember: the PRIMARY function of an lbc is to teach its
"owner" how to maintain it in the manner it wants to become accustomed to.
Thus, you will, if you don't already, spend long hours fussing over valves,
distributors, and carbs. THIS is the fun of having an lbc. Driving them is
merely the icing on the cake. 8^)
