I have recently replaced the tach on my 72 B with one of the later models which connect only to the distributor and not the older current loop type. It appears to work fine but somewhat sluggish. I can't see any reason this would not be a direct replacement. Any ideas? I also at one time had a copy of a file on Smith's tachs which gave the number for a transistor which was a good substitute for the one in the older type tachs but can not find it. Anyone have this info? Thanks |
