If I remember correctly, the Spit Comp. Prep. Manual says to lock the
distributor at 32 deg. advance for racing. So, it should run. Probably
loses all bottom end, but works really well over 4k rpm. I believe the ideal
timing is to have maximum pressure from combustion at 9 deg. ATDC.
Given a constant speed for the flame front, this is why you need to advance
the time of ignition as rpm increase (and the time it takes for piston to
move from 0 to 9 ATDC decreases).
