Hello All.
First I would like to say that I have been a subscriber to this
group for a few months and have found it very interesting and it has
given me renewed enthusiasm as an owner of an LBC. (I've been away for
awhile, but now I'm back....)
But back to the matter at hand. There was a question regarding the
placement of the turn signal flasher on a 78 MGB. Well I own a 77 MGB
and have done extensive electrical work on it (is that redundant?).The
77 and 78 are very close sisters and should be identical in most
respects. The flasher is indeed behind the glove box just as Collin
Brace said. All you need to do is open the glove box, remove the inner
plastic shroud (held on at the top by two screws) and you will be
staring at the bulkhead. Almost directly in front of you should run the
main branch of the interior wiring harness. These wires either lead to
the dashboard or center console. Mounted directly on the bulkhead (with
brackets and screws) are two little metal boxes. One has a lite green
wire with a brown tracer and a brown wire going into it. This I believe
is the hazard flasher. The other has a lite green wire with a brown
tracer and a green wire going into it. This is the turn signal flasher.
Your setup should be very similar. Its been a while since I've looked
so someone shout if I screwed this up.
This is my first post so I hope I've made a decent contribution.
Yours in the Spirit,
Dave
