Not in my experience. I used 2 MGC rears in my first V8 conversion- wore out
the carrier in the first one in only 200,000 miles- plus whatever the
original miles were. I have a 3.70 in my current 1966 roadster conversion
and have not had any whine in any of them. I did have to replace the copper
cups & fiber spacers in all to eliminate the dreaded "clunk".

Subject: MGC rear axle whine
Does the MGC rear axle whine more than the MGB rear axle? The C gears are
more square cut which suggests heavy-duty/whine-more?
