Thanks for the parts help. I got the 6 mm coarse thread screw for the
transmission shifter cowling at the local parts store (and Victoria British
sent me
one too), and an adjustable dip stick from Auto Zone, so back on the road
driving back and forth to work this week. Glorious !! The screw was
definately a
two man job, one above to hold the cowling in place while holding the spring
down, and one from underneath winding your arm up past the drive shaft and
putting the screw in blindly. Hey, whatever it takes.
