To briefly sum up roller lifters: Ford has used them since 87 or so in the 5.0 V8's in H.O. applications, GM likewise. Less friction equals better economy for the C.A.F.E., also GM based engines have a history of wiped cam lobes. Where did our beloved little 3.5 originate? The roller motors as we call them also have far less warranty claims.
