Also, any device driven by the engine reduces (albeit by a tiny ammount)
power. A good electric pump will have a minimal parts count and is less
likely to deliver fuel to the bowl in squirts (a regulator will help
with both manual and electric pumps) On the plus side, a mechanical
pump will deliver more fuel at higher RPM, where it is needed, unlike
many electric ones.
