Hi Robert,

The baulkhead panel mount does need to be changed as the position of the rack 
shaft is 
different from the chrome bumper to the rubber bumper. 

What I did was weld in the new baulkhead plate, assemble the steering column 
with the U 
joint and install it. I cut off the orginal rack mounts. I made a jig out of 
wood that 
would sit on the garage floor and allow me to move the rack up and down and 
change the 
angle of the shaft. After mating the shaft up with the U joint and getting the 
rack 
height correct ( same as the chrome bumper one) , I clamped and tack welded the 
new 
mounts in. This all required a bit of fiddling but I was extemely happy with 
the result.

I bought the new mounts from Triumph Rover spares in Adelaide, Australia, but 
you could 
make up your own easily.
