All,
I'm now the proud owner of two Dana 44s with posi, both with
perfectly centered pinions and 51" width requiring no chopping. Even
got one of them for $50.00 (woo hoo!). Here's the question: One is a
3.73 and the other is a 3.07 . One of my cars is the roadster w/ T-5
behind a 4.8L Rover. The other conceptual car will be the Ford 302 with
an overdrive slush-box. Aside from the mathmatical aspect, do people in
the group have an opinion as to which ratio is best suited to a
particular engine/trannie combo? The GT-Ford with the slush-box I would
like to be a daily driver (on the beltway) and take long-legged
interstate drives with. The manual roadster is for having too much fun
on the back-roads. (Assume both cars have identical rims and tires).
Thanks for the thoughts.
