A bunch of you wanted me to keep you informed on my progress with my rear disc
conversion.
I got the rear end back from currie enterprises. I had originally planed to
use 240SX rotors. That plan was shot down since curries' standard axle flange
was too big and the rotors didn't fit over them.
Plan 2. I found out that willwood makes an aluminum hat with our bolt
pattern. I assume it's for the 240SX. Only problem is that the smallest
rotor willwood makes is 11.8" in diameter. I'll be using wilwood dynalite
calipers in the rear. The brembo's I had were just way too big to ever fit in
there. I will have to make a .4" spacer to move the wheel out enough to clear
the rim. Time will tell if everything will fit under the car.
I know it's way overkill, but what the heck. I hate changing pads on drums.
I took some pictures for everybody.

Pic 2. Shot from the inside. No I will not be mounting the caliper up there
:)

Pic 4. A better picture of the hat and rotor. The aluminum plate on the
outside is the spacer. The one shown is .2" thick, I need .4". No that's not
an advertisement for Currie :)

Pic 5. Ford 8" pumpkin all nice and pretty with powdercoat. Haven't decided
on what color to do the housing. Maybe a silver to black fade. Not like
anyone's going to ever see it.

Hopefully on my next day off, i'll be designing some caliper brackets. I
already have the plan in my head, just gotta get on the milling machine and
make em.
I'll keep everyone informed as I finish off the rear end with the coilovers
and linkages.
