It really comes down to Demand/Location. Here in WA there are not as many
MG's as back in the Northeast US. I have heard about good engines on east
cost going for $100 like mentioned. At the same time, I sold my running
engine with tranny for $350, and the guy drove 1hour to come pick it up. It
was out of the car, so I could not tell him compression or anything other
than it ran and did not seem to burn oil. He was happy as heck and we spent
a hours BS'ing about MG's...
Hate to rain on the parade, but it is a factor of both items, as well as
someone in the area wanting one..
