Gee, I thought I was raising a legitimate concern about a statement in a
published article. Here's the link:

<< A quick trip to your friendly auto parts store- a REAL one, not Trak or
similar-
will put you in front of a catalog showing the hundreds of heater shut off
valves for virtually every car made in the last 20 years.>>
My calculator says our favorite little aluminum V8 is pushing 40.
<<These cars all had valves to shut off water flow to the heater as does
every car I
have any personal knowledge of, Chevys, Plymouths, & the odd Buick &
Bronco.>>
Maybe someone on the list with a Skylark or Special can verify this. I
haven't see one lately, but I do have personal experience with a number of
'60s Chevys (including my '68 Camaro that I have owned for 19 years) and NONE
have provisions for shutting off the water flow to the heater core. Not
saying they're all that way, but I have seen a bunch of Chevys that do not
have a heater shut off valve. This made think that maybe the Buicks didn't
either.
<<I have been driving one or another V8 MGB's daily since 1986, & have not
seen
 this problem. >>
Jim, I know you and others on this list have put many years and many miles on
the 215. That is why I asked.
