Bill,

I've been working on converting my 75 B since last November, and I haven't
found one place for all the information. There is a good book, "How to
give your MGB V8 Power" that you can get through Moss or VB, probably at
amazon.com too. I've also got the Guide to Purchase and Restoration book
by Lindsay Porter, and another book, Tuning Rover V8 engines. I've visited
Glen Towery several times to get his story and I've bought a bunch of parts
/ conversion bits from him. Kurt's V8 newsletter is packed with great
information, but then it seems like everybody does some things differently.
I've talked to almost all the advertisers in the newsletter, and I've
tried to make the conversion as easy, practical, and inexpensive as I
thought was proper, but there are always choices - starters, headers,
carbs, radiators, suspension, A/C or no A/C, fuel injection and on and on.
It's really fun and really challenging for me - this is the first serious
car work I've attempted and I really appreciate all the help from all the
sources.

Nothing seems to be a definitive guide - the MGB V8 Power book is really
geared to the UK audience and some things don't apply. The year of your
car really makes a difference too, with the 77 to 80 being the easiest,
75-76 the next easiest, 68-74, then 62-67. Also, many differences
customizing your conversion to your individual taste.

Good luck,

Safety Faster
