Went to a local show today with a bunch of friends in Athens, Maine. Good
turnout of about everything, even had a tractor class with minted out
Farmalls and such. About 250 car total. In the foreign and sports were a
couple of Healey 3000's, a Ferrari 348 and 2 Porcha Turbos among other
exotics. Even had 2 TVRs and 2 MGB V-8s and other affordable sportscars
rounded out the 24 car class.
Ray and Pam Gilberts '77 MGB V-8 won the class! It is a beautiful car, and
proof that a well done MG has all of the charm of the mega dollar exotics.
At least in the woods of Maine.
The street rod guys love V-8s and are eager to talk shop. The Ferrari guy
seemed less than impressed. The ride up and back was the best part of the
day. Winding back roads and no traffic, perfect MG weather.
