[Mg-t] embarrassing question

I have been changing the oil and filter on Eliot, our '53 TD for  a number
of years now with no problem, i.e. leakage from the filter canister. Well,
today I can't remember which of the 3 'o' rings supplied with the filter to
use . don't laugh.

I thought it was the widest one and yet there is a good leak.

Any thoughts?
