The windshield pivots on the flat sided stud which is the lower stud. The
flat washer hole on this stud is also flat sided so it rotates when the
screen is folded. This lower stud ( with flat side ) has a thin locknut
followed by a dome nut on the outside. The dome/lock nut/flat washer
assembly is left slightly loose so the screen can fold easily without
slackening the lower dome nut etc..Does not matter where the flat faces.
Top stud has the tapered washer and wing nut and is tightened to secure the
windscreen to the body bracket.
BTW, these studs have small hidden pins through the side windscreen vertical
pieces to lock them in place.

Quick question - one of the the two studs on each side that hold the screen
to
the scuttle bracket has a flat on it and the other does not - which one goes
at the top? And does it matter which way the flat on stud faces?
Thanks
