Help:
1953 MG-TD with spin on oil filter conversion. Have changed oil many times
- always takes a while to prime - but eventually it Works.
This time changed the oil and filter and cannot get it primed. I try
everything - even turning the rear wheel in reverse while the transmission is
in
4th gear. Nothing. Cannot get the pressure up.
Last took out the relief valve spring and ball - cranked over engine without
spark plugs - the relief valve cavity is dry - no oil flowing out.
Have I got a huge air pocket in the pump that is preventing a proper prime?
Any suggestions or ideas.?
