Scott,

Keep the terminal letters in mind; F=Field (fairly small current to 
regulate the output via the Field windings), D=Dynamo (full output of 
the generator). The F terminal gets the smaller wire (yellow/green) that 
goes to terminal F on the regulator.  The D terminal gets the heavier 
(yellow) wire that goes to the D terminal on the regulator.

BTW, where was this originally posted?  I don't recall seeing it on mg-t.
