Bob:

I found that I had to use two gaskets.  One wasn't thick
enough as they compress overtime.  Replacing it is a fiddly
job.  You need a scratch awl or other sharp tool to scape
out all of the old seal.  Put a rag or cork into the opening
so the seal bits don't fall into the fuel tank.
