I don't know the answers to these questions.
There are three MkII cars in this area that I am familiar with. None
has the spark advance control. Though I can't speak of the provenence of
the other two, one of them is the car my father bought new, and I know it
never had the control.
Chip Old pointed out that the options that made the MkII could be
purchased from MG dealers. My guess is that they are listed here so that
one could find the MkII bits together in the parts book. It's not likely,
though, that someone would buy a frame and build up his own MkII. One
wonders how significantly different the frame can be--how much more than
a standard TD did the MkII cost when new?
